Gradescope (https://www.gradescope.com) is digital grading platform available for SolBridge faculty.
It can be used with any type of test or assignment. It is especially useful for grading multiple choice questions, short answer questions, or any item with an objective "correct" response.
A set of introductory slides produced by Gradescope reps are available here.
Each faculty who would like to use Gradescope must create an account directly on the Gradescope website. The process is quite simple.
Access https://www.gradescope.com
Click on "Sign up"
Select "Instructor"
Complete the form and indicate "SolBridge International School of Business" as your school.
(You can leave the Invite code field blank)
Wait 24 - 48 hours for your account to be approved.
Gradescope offers two demo courses with a variety of sample assignments for you to grade. (See screenshot here.)
I recommend the following learning path:
Watch the first five videos in the Getting Started guide.
Grade the sample assignment in the "Gradescope Tutorial" demo course
Grade some sample assignments in the "Assignment Examples" demo course
Grade one of the subject specific exams. Mathematics or Economics would be appropriate for most faculty.
Grade the Bubble Sheet Exam.
If you teach programming: Grade the Computer Science assignment
Upload these sample blank test papers and scans of students' test papers.
These papers are the same as the ones in the "assignment examples" in step 3 above.
You can use these papers to practice the test uploading process.
After that point, try it out with actual exams from your courses.
Some considerations for using Gradescope effectively:
To make scanning easier, you can cut off the stapled corners of the test papers, or use easily removable paperclips instead of staples to bind papers together during the test.
For questions where students are provided with a large amount of workspace, consider including a box for final answers.
Gradescope detects handwriting and groups equivalent responses together.
Having a smaller space for detection improves accuracy of detection and saves you time.
